Hydrating Skincare on a Budget

The cold months are upon us and we all need more hydration to keep our skin looking healthy. This moisturizing duo by Murad is perfect for day time use, and most suited for those with normal to dry skin. The Hydro Dynamic Ultimate Moisture cream (shown here in the large jar) is a very rich and fresh, almost sweet smelling cream. I noticed a difference in the moisture level of my skin, when I did not use it, so it does work. Added benefits of this product are that it improves texture and tone, and is great for sensitive skin.

In the small jar, the Hydro Dynamic Ultimate Moisture for eyes is great for firmness and wrinkle control.

Both of these products provide results lasting up to 8 hours. Results will vary, however, so it is best to try it out for yourself. The cute packaging, and carrying case make this a perfect gift or party favor.

Hotheads - Heat Free Hair Drying

If you live in an area where the weather is usually humid, or where it rains a lot, you know how hard it is to keep your curls under control. Frizz is a secret daily battle for you, and you just want it to go away! The Hand Dry Hair Towel  and The Hand Dry Hair Glove can be your new solution for gentle drying that controls this annoying problem.

When you get out of the shower you can wrap your head and hair with the the Hand Dry Towel to ring out excess water. Leave your hair in the towel for a few minutes, then unwrap. Gently comb your hair with a wide tooth comb, starting from the tips, going up to the root, then put on the Hand Dry Gloves. The gloves give you the dexterity you need to scrunch or maneuver your hair any way you please. You can also apply your product before using the gloves, and continue to scrunch your hair up toward the root, for a drying effect, in place of using a hair dryer and diffuser combination. This is great for giving your hair a break from damaging daily heat effects.

Achieve the hair style you desire this Fall and coming Winter season, with Hotheads Hand Dry products.

Relastin Skin Revitalizer Review

Taking just a few minutes out of your routine to care for your skin can do wonders for your appearance. Including a facial cream into your beauty regimen will give you more plush skin and a coveted glow that all women want.

This is a glorious and fresh cream that is not too heavy. It can be used in the morning, or in the evening. I preferred to use it in the morning after I was finished in the shower and after I washed my face. It does not leave an oily after residue, so it would be nice to use for normal or combination skin. If you have very dry skin,  you may want to try the Relastin Ultra Emollient cream. However, the fact that the Relastin Skin Revitalizer cream is light, is what drew me to it, and would get me to continue to use it. I wear makeup almost every day, and if a product is too oily or greasy feeling, it does not help my makeup to stay looking fresh, and shine free. The Skin Revitalizer, contains the Zinc Firming Complex, which truly helps your skin to feel rejuvenated, and more youthful.

Make-up Designory Cosmetics

Make-up Designory cosmetics are professional grade products that have been tested by make up artists and experts in the industry. If you haven't tried this brand, it is about time that you do.

Eye shadow (eye color) – very saturated pigment that shows up very well on my skin. Blends perfectly and smoothly. Shows up on pale, medium, and dark skin tones.

Cream Mascara – nothing special compared to other mascaras. This specific one was rather clumpy to me. My eyelashes are fine, and medium length. The tube was easy to use, and could get a lot of product on the brush, however I think it would allow for too much product, because it felt like my lashes were being smothered with mascara. I wanted it to be more watery.

Creamy makeup compact (cream foundation) – a lot of pigment and covers well. Oily and smooth application. This would be too oily if you have combination to oily skin. I suggest you use this if you have dry to combination skin.

Eye shadow brush (crease brush) – works perfectly with eye colors, and conforms to the shape of your eye well. Blends shadow very well. The handle is long and comfortable to use.

You should see the wide selection of foundation colors, and highlight and shadow colors by Make-up Designory! They supply a very wide variety for real skin tones, not just the run of the mill types you see in drugstores.

Philip Pelusi Hair Products

Philip Pelusi hair products actually delivers results. What you read is what you get.

"In May 2008, Philip premiered Tela Beauty Organics, the industry’s first USDA certified organic line of hair care products, created in accord with the highest USDA organic standards as well as ingredients that meet the stringent requirements of the US Pharmacopeia."

The Age de phy shampoo and Lite leave in spray made my hair thicker and more plush. These products really transformed my hair when I thought nothing else could help at the time. I love touching my hair again. I am going to purchase their volumizing "Increase Volumizze"shampoo and conditioner, just to try it now, and see how they work for me.

Age de phy shampoo - $29.95 - Very well worth the money spent!!! I suggest you give it a try if your hair is thin, fine, and if you feel like you need a boost of life and volume. A little bit goes a long way in the shower, and the lather is very rich.

Lite leave in hair and skin moisturizer - $13.95 - I've had this since May, and I am still using it, but my bottle is almost empty. This light spray soothes my scalp from itching, and helps mend the ends of my hair, resulting in less breakage. I love it and use it on my children's hair too.

"If Mom envies your thick hair, give her the gift of plumped roots and smoothed out shine with celebrity hairstylist Philip Pelusi’s P2 hair care line, the first hair care line to address all different types of hair from the inside out. These are smart products that multi-task as treatments as well as shampoos, conditioners and styling products (http://www.philippelusi.com/)."

Luscious Oils for Hair and Body

Are you craving soft, full and beautiful hair? You will discover your hair's real beauty when you start using oils for moisture and overall health. Here are a few that may interest you:

Macdamia Natural Oil - Macadamia Healing Oil Treatment is a nice oil consisting of Macadamia nut oil and argan seed oil with special blends of nourishing botanicals for the ultimate rejuvenation. You can mix it with your regular conditioner, leave in conditioner, and even your hair dye mixture for added benefits. I suggest using it on medium to thick hair. Be careful on using it on very fine or fine hair because it can be slightly to heavy for this type. It can be used on wet or dry hair. Be careful when using high heat temperatures immediately after using this product, to prevent actually frying of the hair.

I use this product with the Macadamia Oil Infused Comb. This comb is a must have and I use it daily. I use it as much as, if not more than, I love my wooden wide toothed comb that was made by Indians native to the land, and was purchased in Mexico. It is well worth the cost and perfect for long hair of any type and texture.

Macadamia nut oil is extremely compatible with our bodies own natural oils, is a great source of essential fatty acids, making hair smooth and strong, and contains the highest amount of palmitoleic acid (an omega 7 fatty acid) of any plant. This oil will leave your hair healty, hydrated and shiny.

Argan seed oil has been used for generations by the people of Morocco because of its beneficial properties for skin hair and nails. It is rich in omega 9, linoleic and unsaturated fatty acids, for strength and hair health. Argan seed oil sterols are very similar to human sterols. Sterols are vital for cellular functions. It is also very high in vitamin E, helping to fix damage from heat and styling products.

Emu Oil is perfect for a dry and itchy scalp and moisturizes wonderfully. If you have have dry and brittle hair, this product is for you! Used in conjunction with Healthy Hair Emu Oil shampoo and conditioner, this oil will truly benefit you for the rest of your life. It can be used for many skin and hair problems.

The Defabulous Acai Oil Treatment has benefited me the most with my dense, yet fine strands. I have a lot of hair but it is fine so if I use something too heavy it weights it down. This oil never weighs down my hair, and makes it soft, plush and manageable. I love how it makes my hair feel, and I've even used it as a eye makeup remover. You can just rinse with a little water and then apply mascara with no problem after using this product on your lashes.

I always mix this oil with the KerAcai Restorative Treatment cream after shampooing, then I blow dry and it leaves my hair feeling strong, long and smooth. I enjoy how this product really does reduce blow drying time as well.

"The Acai berry is loaded with vitamins and minerals that are critical for good health. Vitamin C is a vitamin that can be found in this tiny berry. The C vitamin prevents free radicals from oxidizing the hair and it also combats with hair loss problems. Vitamin E is another antioxidant found in the Acai berry, it too is important to maintain healthy hair. Vitamin E enhances scalp circulation which improves the health and growth of hair. The combination of vitamins and minerals that the Acai berry has to offer, along with a healthy lifestyle can insure healthy hair."

You will notice a big difference in the overall health, smoothness and texture of your hair once you introduce oils into your daily regimen. Experiment and find out which one is best for your hair type.

Get Hairless with Silk’n SensEpil

What it does:

This high tech system makes hair less visible over time. It helps to diminish the hair at the root, making it grow back more fine each hair growth cycle.

How it works:

Plug in the device into a wall outlet. Turn on the pressing the button until it “gets ready”. Use the hand held attachment to deliver light pulse to skin, one section at a time, not overlapping as best as possible. There are cartridges that you will have to replace after a period of time. Find out more in the manual or by watching the DVD.

Ease of use and what to expect:

The device is easy to use. It comes with an informative and fun to watch instructional DVD and instruction manual. It is a cute, small system, and has a cord that you must plug into the wall. It sounds a little bit like a blow dryer when in use.

Upon my first use, I was surprised at how simple it was to operate, and how quickly I was able to cover the entire area of skin I wanted to treat . You should have enough time to use it in the morning before work. I was a little scared at first because I didn’t know how the light pulse would feel, but since it happens so quickly, it did not really bother me. The light pulse is pretty bright, so I chose to close my eyes as I was using it. The light pulse feels sort of like a slap or pinch, but it is very fast, so the slight pain sensation goes away very quickly. I started off on the first strength setting (which is advised to do for everyone).

Click over to the Silk'n SensEpil website for more information. The "Before and After" photos are astonishing! They even have a blank treatment diary page that you can download, print, or send to a friend.

Beautiful Smiles, Naturally

This unique and strong toothpaste has phenomenal breath freshening power. I like how it is natural, and gives a cute vintage feel to your bathroom.

"Couto Toothpaste (wrapped in fun retro orange packaging) was created in Porto, Portugal in 1932 by pharmacy manager, Dr. Alberto Ferreira Couto. Couto has been sold in the finest European perfumeries for over 70 years. Classic 1930’s inspired packaging adds a retro touch to any medicine cabinet and Couto’s formulation of natural peppermint, menthol, anethol, thymol and eugenol keeps teeth white and gums healthy. The toothpaste’s high quality has led to its continued success and popularity, and today in Portugal, “couto paste” is synonymous with toothpaste. The small production is still in the hands of the last heir of the Couto family, Alberto Gomes da Silva."

ApHogee for Damaged Hair

This protein rich liquid is like a miracle for dry, hay like crispy hair. I loved the way it made my hair look so much more full after JUST ONE USE. It actually did seem like my hair was stronger, after the first use. It is easy to use, and doesn't take hours until it is done..more like 20 minutes (depending on how long it takes you to apply the product as well). I am not an expert, and I used it with ease. The directions are direct and easy to read. ApHogee Two Step Protein Treatment restores and mends dull, lifeless hair. It improves the texture and tone of severely damaged hair.

Step 1 puts protein back into the hair and bonds the cuticle, repairing it from the inside out, and protects it against future damage.

Step 2 infuses moisture into the hair. It is also great to use just before you color to get a more desirable, even color effect.

Pros: Hair is stronger, and conditions nails at the same time, if you use it with out gloves.

Cons: liquid can drip on clothing, due to its thin state out of the bottle. I suggest you use it with your head held over the bathtub. In addition, it has a very Strong smell, that may be undesirable (I use it anyway because I want strong, and beautiful hair).

Beauty: As far as beauty goes, it is what it is by definition. Beauty is also very controversial and has a past that has a great history.
